The holiday season is in full force, and I hope that you are finding far more moments of joy than you are of stress.
Tis the season of joyful exchanges, gift giving, laughter, eating homemade goodies and spreading some serious love. Tis also the season of having way too many things to do, hosting hectic family gatherings, buying gifts on a shoestring-budget and acting like you're all jolly when you are really losing your shit.
If you are anything like me, you are constantly toggling between overwhelm and attempting to embrace every wonderful detail of the holidays.
Instead of waiting around for someone or something to add a little sweetness to your season, I encourage you to go within and ask what you can do to lift someone else's spirits up.
What can you do today, tomorrow, this week, this month to make spirits light? Whose day can you brighten? Whose burden can you ease? Who really needs to laugh, or smile, or simply be heard? Bake some cookies for a neighbor, write a letter to an old friend, help someone decorate their home with lights, buy a stranger a cup of coffee, send a heartfelt gift or watch a special holiday movie with a little one in your life.
Take time to make another spirit light this time of year and I guarantee your entire season will be brighter because of it. ♥
